Summary
The paper examines the concept of the defendant and the identification thereof in the administrative court procedure in Latvia. The author analyses the meaning of the defendant, and the procedural peculiarities in the Latvian legal system. Moreover, the author views the concept of legal capacity and its impact on identifying the defendant. In the paper, the author focuses on the possible types of defendants in the administrative court procedure, revealing the issues observed in case law.
